P. for 50 years.

The class of '61 was the first class to completely transit the NEW Mt. Pleasant High School on Washington St. Extension. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. As with every class, and every classmate, the times have been, in terms of the Chinese curse, interesting, with careers, family, various wars, and many other things.

We all have memories of our school days. Some painful, most good. Let's share some of those memories with the classmates we grew up with, many of whom we've not seen since leaving MPHS.

It would be really wonderful if we could assemble the whole class, or at least as many as possible, to reconnect and reminisce in celebration. In order to make this a rousing success, we'd like to hear from as many of the classmates as possible with ideas.

Because of the unique nature of this class, one of the things that we'll be doing is to contact the school to see if they would like to participate, or at the least formally recognize the class. Also, some of the teachers who were just starting out may still be around and might like to visit with their "first" students. Who knows?

Proposed Date: April 15 / 16, 2011

This is the date that we are currently working toward. If it suits, let us know. If it doesn't suit, let us know what you might think would let you attend. I know it's tax day, but any earlier and we fight the weather and proms. Any later, we compete with graduations and weddings.

Proposed Activities:

There aren't too many of these yet. Some that have been discussed are:

Reserve a block of tee times for a "tournament"

Instead of one of the above locations, how about a dinner cruise, if we can find one.

Suggested locations:

The locations below have been suggested to host our group. Take a look and see what you think. Also, if you're traveling and need a place to stay, some of the sites have rooms associated with them, and there are a number of hotels/motels in the area.

Depending on the number of people attending, the choices may have to be different. Please look and let us know. Also, if you have another suggestion, let us know and it will be posted as an additional suggestion. We're wide open to suggestions at this time.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort

Chadds Ford Inn and Brandywine River Hotel

The Delaware Inn - A Rehoboth Beach Resort

Wally:

This has nothing to do with the reunion, but I just had to include Wally at 7 months since we don't have any grandchildren.

Looking forward to hearing from as many of you, hopefully letting us know you'll be attending, and loaded with good suggestions.

Reunion/reacquaint

OK, gang. Reunion is not far away. My brother went to his this year and said it was a blast! Think it's time to pull it together. I'm 1700 miles away (and NOT independently wealthy) so I'll help as I can, but some of you local guys need to do some leg work.

What's everyone up to? What's everyone been doing? I did a career as a Paramedic/Firefighter with a lot of teaching EMTs, ACLS, CPR, PALS and other alphabet soups. Retired around 2002 and have been going to school since. Paying for my education with my artwork originally, I have added teaching classes as Professor Massara since (mainly teaching Hebrew, some Apologetics). Go to Jordan once a year (Jan/Feb) as staff with Trinity Southwest University. We are excavating a site there - Tall el Hammam - which we think was Sodom, and later, Livias.

Open to suggestions for a place in Wilmington (or surrounding environs) for holding our 50 year reunion.

Hope to hear from you.
